July is the traditional month in the Roman Catholic Church dedicated to the Precious Blood of Jesus. The great Paschal Mystery of Jesus – his Passion, Death, Burial and Resurrection – which we celebrate at every Mass, is realized in the shedding of his Precious Blood – from the agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, to the beating and scourging, to the crowning with thorns and ultimately his crucifixion. A Litany to the Precious Blood is included in the attachments for this weekend as a means by which you can prayerfully reflect and invoke the Lord’s saving help which he made possible through his self-offering on Calvary. / El mes de julio es el mes tradicional en la Iglesia católica romana que se dedica a la Preciosa Sangre de Jesucristo. El gran misterio pascual – que es la Pasión, la Muerte, la Sepultura y la Resurrección del Señor – lo que celebramos a cada misa, se realizó por medio del derrame de su Preciosa Sangre – desde su oración sangriente en el huerto de Getsemaní, los golpes y azotes que sufrió, la coronación de espinas y, por fin, su crucifixión. Se le provee una Letanía a la Preciosa Sangre en los adjuntos para su uso a fin de ayudarle a reflexionar, rezar e invocar al auxilio salvador del Señor Jesús quien nos salvó por medio de su auto entrega en Calvario.
