Welcome, Fr. Hilary Brzezinski, OFM! Fr. Hilary is visiting our parish this week, coming from La Crosse, WI. He had served here, first from 1977 – 1987 and again from 1996 – 2002. He will be substituting for Fr. Kim who will be outside of Chicago for several days of meetings with Franciscan leadership. Fr. Hilary will be celebrating the weekend Masses at St. Francis August 7 – 8. / ¡Bienvenidos, Padre Hilario Bzezinski, OFM! El Padre Hilario nos visitará esta semana y va a suplir al Padre Joaquín que asistirá a una serie de reuniones con su liderazgo franciscano cerca de Chicago. El Padre Hilario habla español y sirvió a san Francisco de Asís, por la primera vez, de 1977 hasta 1987, y por la segunda vez, de 1996 – 2002. Será el celebrante de las misas dominicales para el 7 y 8 de agosto que viene.
70th Anniversary of the founding of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and School – reminder – please mark your calendars – Sunday, October 10, 2021. We are preparing to celebrate the 9parish’s and school’s 70th anniversary of foundation. We are planning to begin with a bilingual Sunday Mass at noon, with Bishop Joseph Kopacz presiding. A festive dinner and activities to follow – all taking place at the Greenwood Leflore Civic Center. More information to come. / 70o aniversario de la Fundación de la parroquia y la escuela de san Francisco de Asís – recordatorio – anote en su agenda, por favor – el domingo, el 10 de octubre 2021. La parroquia y la escuela san Francisco de Asís van a celebrar su 70 aniversario de fundación. Se comenzará a las 12 p.m. con la santa misa bilingüe y el Monseñor obispo José Kopacz presidirá a aquella misa. Una cena festiva y más actividades seguirán.
Registration for Faith Formation: Forms for registration in English are on the table near the entrance to the church (on your right as you leave church). This year’s Faith Formation program will be held at St. Francis School – it will take place on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m. We plan to begin on Wednesday, September 8. More information will follow. We are requesting a $15.00 donation for one child or $30 per family with three or more children. This is to help defray expenses. Thank you. / Inscirpciones para la Formación de Fe (la doctrina): los formularios de Inscripciones están puestos en la mesa cerca de la entrada de la iglesia (a su izquierda al salir) Planeamos a iniciar el programa el miércoles, el 8 de septiembre. Se llevará a cabo los miércoles durante el año escolar, a las 6 p.m. y en la escuela san Francisco de Asís. Les compartiremos más informes en el pronto futuro. Se le pide una contribución de $15 por alumno o $30 por cada familia con tres y más alumnos. Es para ayudar a la parroquia con los gastos. Gracias.
