Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. March – Sunday, January 20th
The 35th Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday observance will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019.  The annual march will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the old St. Francis Catholic Center, 708 Avenue I to West MLK Drive and turn right onto Avenue E, north to Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.  Marchers are encouraged to carry flags, banners and signs while wearing identifying badges, emblems or uniforms in support of peace and brother-sisterhood to promote unity. Mardis Gras Ball

Mardis Gras Ball
The annual Mardi Gras Ball will be held at the Leflore County Civic Center on Saturday night, February 16th, from 7:00 p.m. to midnight.  Dinner will be served at 8:00 p.m. DJ Traxx will provide the music for the evening.  Tickets are $35.00/person.  There will be the traditional coronation of the King and Queen of the Ball and well as other prizes for participants, along with a 50-50 raffle.  All proceeds benefit St. Francis Grade School.  Come one, come all – and spread the word!

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity - 150th Anniversary!
As we Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity begin our celebration of the 150th anniversary of our founding, we will have a section in the St. Francis of Assisi parish bulletin about us and our presence here at St. Francis. Our logo for the celebration will appear each time to identify the article.
